Acnezine is one of the most popular acne management systems in the market today, but is it really effective? This is a comprehensive Acnezine review based on user feedback and a review of its ingredients so you can make the right decision before you start treatment using this system. We tried to pick out all the good an bad points for Acnezine so that you could make your own decision on whether or not to try it yourself. All in all though, Acnezine is a great acne product.
What It Is
Acnezine is an acne treatment system formulated to treat acne while moisturizing the skin. The treatment is composed of two products: a cream and an oral supplement. The cream is formulated with bacteria-killing ingredients to eliminate blackheads, whiteheads and pimples, and the supplement cleans the skin from the inside, making skin cells healthy and better able to withstand any bacterial action that could lead to acne-formation and other skin problems.
Main ingredients include:
- 5% benzoyl peroxide
- aloe vera
- green tea.
Other ingredients include:
- birch extract
- lemon peel oil
- tea tree oil
- citrus extract
- small amounts of witch hazel
- sage extracts.
The antioxidant capsules contain ingredients like alpha lipoic and hyaluronic acid which have been shown to produce positive results for acne sufferers.
Acnezine comes in cream form but it actually feels and looks more like a gel. The Acnezine formulation is light and easily absorbs into the skin. Its light consistency makes it suitable for acne-prone users and those suffering from oily skin. The cream also does not come with a strong fragrance which is good news for those who are sensitive about strong chemical smells accompanying their facial products.
Benzoyl peroxide is commonly found in most acne treatments because it is very effective in shedding away skin cells that often cause the blockages that result to acne. Benzoyl peroxide is also bactericidal, which means that it kills acne-causing bacteria. It is also FDA-approved for acne treatments.
A 5% formula is sufficient to remove 20% of blackheads in the first week and another 15% by the end of the month. Users report a 30% decrease of pimples after a week of use, and another 30% by the end of the month.
However, benzoyl peroxide is extremely drying and can lead to skin peeling, redness and irritation. People with sensitive skin may also experience more pronounced side effects even with very low doses of benzoyl peroxide.
Pros of Acnezine
Acnezine is very effective in reducing blackheads and pimples in the first few weeks of use. The all-natural formulation is great for those who want to stick to natural treatments. The oral supplement is also a great way to promote skin health and renewal without putting additional strain on the skin. The cream formulation is light and easy to apply.
It is also fairly strong as far as the formulation of benzoyl peroxide. We also have mentioned this as a con because it can cause problems in the first few applications. But it is also a good thing because it is known to do the job.
Cons of Acnezine
Reports of acne problems worsening while on this system is common. This could be attributed to the 5% formulation which may be too strong for an initial application. Application of 5% benzoyl peroxide to irritated skin can produce more stress on the skin which can worsen any acne problem.
On the other hand, there are some users who build a tolerance to the 5% formulation and may need to upgrade to a stronger formula. This could exacerbate any irritation that is already present. A switch to a gentler, milder formulation may be a better option so that the skin can recuperate.
Careful application is also necessary when using this product. Benzoyl peroxide tends to stain, so users may want to avoid touching fabric, clothes and linen after using their hands to apply the product. Allowing the product to dry on the skin before going to bed is one way to avoid staining bedsheets and pillowcases.
Finally, unlike other effective acne management systems, Acnezine does not come with other products like toners and cleansers that are also necessary in keeping acne problems under control. It is not surprising that many are doubting if the $40 price tag is worth just two products. With that said though, $40 is still a reasonable price if it works for you. In my opinion, no price is too high if you need to have clear skin and it works.
Acnezine is a a great product if you want to stick to natural ingredients. Its 5% formulation is effective up to a point, but it also causes redness, irritation and may even worsen existing acne problems. While the oral supplementation is a great way to strengthen the skin from within, most users feel that two products for $40 is just too expensive compared to complete acne management systems that they can get for the same price.
With that said, I still think it is good to try. It is a bit expensive compared to other products but if you are looking to get rid of acne, Acnezine just might be a great thing for you to try. I believe that it may not work for everyone but it is definitely a great product. Just make sure to test it on a part of your skin first.
